MSI show @ Revolution last night

  • May. 9th, 2008 at 2:02 PM
Went to see the MSI show last night. Had a great time. They are a fantastic band to see live with incredible energy, stage presence and chemistry with their audience. Their sound was actually very tight too.

Lots of cute girls at this show in the colorful cyber-goth / candy raver attire. I love that stuff so much, I can't even explain it. It was definitely an eye candy event in all respects. I haven't seen such flashy dressers at a concert since... well... ever.

OPENERS
Arrived a bit late and caught the last song by Combichrist as they were about to come off the stage. They looked pretty cool and their sound was pretty well put together but I missed most of their set. I was shocked that they went on first considering the band that followed them.

The next band on was The Birthday Massacre which is a more traditional sort of rock band with a girl singer. Plus they are Canadian. They sort of sucked and took a long time on stage with their set. The crowd seemed to get pretty impatient with them towards the end of their set and started chanting for MSI. I made the joke that Birthday Massacre should just be shortened to "B.M.", and we should get that out of the way before MSI comes on.

MSI
MSI came on after awhile and the place just blew up. I spent half the show hanging out on the side by the bar where it was safe and then Cassandra and I decided to get dangerous and go down to the floor which was like a warzone. There was a lot of moshing and a tight, sweaty crowd of fans pushing against each other. There was definitely a pretty violent but considerate mosh pit (if you got knocked over, there was likely a sea of hands reaching to pick you up). There was a lot of crowd-surfing, or as TMBG calls it, "pass the guy". One crowd surfer, a girl I think, passed over me and stripped my trademark goggles off my head. It seemed like an accident but there was no way to find them after that and they probably got crushed immediately. Oh well. They had a long life. Later in the show, an ice cube tossed from somewhere in the back of the club bounced off my forehead like I got hit with a tiny rock. Ouch. Oh well. The head is nature's shock absorber.

The crowd seemed to throw objects on stage like toys, accessories, clothing, etc. that the band could use or play with, or in some way incorporate into the show. It was a really cool concept actually. At one point, someone threw a whole box of Pocky onto the stage which Jimmy Urine proceeded to open up and eat the entire contents in one pouring motion. The stage antics were especially entertaining because it seemed like there were really no rules as far as what they wouldn't do, and the energy was just incredible, like the band feeded from the chaos of the audience and translated that into the show.

I've been here a long time and it's amazing how many people I know in the Fort Lauderdale scene. A lot of my old friends at the show including Efrem who was almost my bassist at one point, and Gina who I've known for like 8 years now. Gina and I are going to hook up next week and have dinner / watch movies. Should be a lot of fun! Also, I finally got to meet my friend Arielle who I've been talking to online for like the last 6 months. That was really awesome and unexpected and she's really cool.

AFTERMATH
We stayed up pretty late last night enjoying beer and playing Rockband. This morning I ordered some new Wonka goggles from Amazon to replace my casualty of war last night. They will be missed but they served me well. I got two pair so I can customize one of them with paint / spikes / some crazy shit and I can have a pair of standard ones too. I'm thinking red ones would be cool.

SOAP
This is a completely unrelated note, but that Pabst soap turned out to be amazing stuff. It doesn't smell anything like Pabst but it is probably the best soap I've ever used and I would recommend the seller Dennis Anderson to everyone who is reading this. He hand-makes his soaps from natural ingredients right here in the USA. Many of his soaps are vegan friendly and the prices are very low considering the high quality of the product. He can even do custom orders (like if you want some weird soap made from whiskey or bacon or something, he could probably do it).

I ordered a variety pack of specialty soaps from him for my mom for mothers day which I know she is going to love, especially since she is probably expecting flowers but she will be able to use and enjoy these much more. Thanks to [info]cakeandmilque for pointing him out to me. You can check out his really awesome selection of spa-quality soaps here.

Sex to music...

  • May. 8th, 2008 at 10:31 PM
Sex with my boyfriend is great, and we always have a great time....
We've been having sex for 9 months, we're also in a LDR... I get to see him every 2 months and I am moving back to NY (where he is) in less then two weeks and I am very excited...
Thing is, we've never have sex while music is playing...and usually he likes the lights on...
I dont mind but I would want to experience sex while music is playing or while lights are off more often with him once I move back....
I dont know exactly how to initiate this...I lost my virginity to him and I'm also the type of person who realyl likes being dominated....
Any tips?

We're pretty open about sex and ideas, but I've never really brought this up cause I feel it won't sound "sexy" or its not something thats a big deal..

But for someone whos been sexually active for 9 months, I've never experienced sex with music and I would like it jsut dont know how to go about actually doing it.

EDIT: So I decided that I really wanted to talk to him about this or else it would bother me, and he totally agreed with me and said it would be a nice change and then said to figure out what we should play and stuff...Now I just have to figure that out haha which will be tough since hes real picky even though we like a lot of the same stuff. :)

Being on top and going soft

  • May. 9th, 2008 at 10:48 AM
My boyfriend and I have a great sex life. But, he gets very frustrated if I'm on top because he says he can't stay hard. He says his blood flow isn't as good. I've asked him if it's me and he says it's not. He smokes alot of pot and has for a long time. When he's on top he gets hard as a rock. Does anyone eles have this problem if the girl is on top? When I'm on top we'll go at it but he either can't stay hard or it falls out which is frustrating for both of us. I love being on top and I need to know how to fix this! Can anyone tell me what is going on and how can I get him to remain hard?

Define "ninja"

  • May. 9th, 2008 at 10:29 PM

Please help me settle an argument over the topic of ninja looting in WoW (or any mmorpg at that matter)

From my understanding a ninja is someone who need rolls an item no matter what without asking. They'll take loot even if another group member mentions they actually need it. They are selfish.

Today i was running gnomer with my mother and sister in law, and was accused of being a ninja looter, all because i needed an item.
I did ASK before i did it, and i did mention that i'll only ever need something if i do need it and will use it.

Apparently asking to have an item no-one else in the group can use is being a ninja.

Personally i think the term is being thrown around like shit here, and i'd like for someone to define what they think a ninja is.

Thanks in advance.

Ps: just to clear things up it was my sister-in-law who accused me of being a ninja, and it was my mother who was trying to help clarify the issue with her, i'm only asking because people are obviously.. confused on the subject.

Grrr. Arg.

I woke up at around 4am, either because I've been doing that lately or because of the immense pain that's being caused by the inflammation of these lymph nodes of mine. At first it was just these ones in the back of my head - that started on Monday - but now it's the ones under my chin, behind my ears and the ones down my neck. The ones down my neck make my neck look all fat & swollen and I can't turn or touch my neck without wanting to scream.

I can't take any Advil because ibuprofen (or any NSAIDS for that matter) and lithium don't mix, so I've been taking Tylenol 1's, which admittedly I'm damn near immune to at this point so they're not doing anything. Or at least not enough.

I have no fever, no sore throat, no runny nose, no headache, no stomach ache, I don't have the shits, I'm not constipated - hell, I don't even have cramps, and I always have cramps! - I just have these crazy swollen lymph nodes.

What worries me though? Is that I looked up the lymphatic system on Wikipedia and it said that the head/neck glands are connected to the thyroid and the most common complication with lithium, from what I've read and been told, is that is can totally fuck up your thyroid. HOWEVER, swollen lymph nodes are not symptoms of lithium toxicity, so who fuckin' knows.

I see the doctor at 10:30am today and I'm going to ask him if we can run my lithium levels again on Tuesday (small town, clinic's only open 2 days a week) to see if they're where they're supposed to be on this new dose, since my shrink's on vacation for the next 3 weeks.

I'd really like to know why my lymph nodes are freaking out though. I really hope he at least gets me to pee in a cup or something before prescribing antibiotics for a mystery infection. I also want painkillers. Lots and lots of painkillers.

Last night I was eating gum and lost a filling. It's just really not been my week. :o(

I hate that I woke up at 4am and couldn't get back to sleep. This has been happening a lot for some reason and it's really starting to piss me off. I went to bed early last night (well, early for me) because today I have to go to Wes' kindergarten class because they're putting on a "Mother's Day Cafe". I'm not entirely sure what that is, but Wes has been so excited about it all week that I have to be there, despite the fact that I feel like shit, I've had no sleep, I'm in pain and oh yeah, have massive social anxiety, especially around other parents.

Whatever painkillers the doctor gives me, I hope they're compatible with Ativan because it's gonna take at least 2 to get me through the front doors of the school. :o/ Blake's coming with me and volunteered to help out with the event, so it probably won't be so bad. And like I said, Wes is STOKED, and I love it when he's excited, so I'll just suck it up.

Okay, I'm gonna try laying down for an hour and seeing what happens.

Ummmmmmm...Title.

Ugh, I have GOT to stop crying...

Not getting sleep
I'm a fucking wreck.

I don't even get manipulated anymore, I just manipulate myself into whatever situation is easier for someone else. Why do I do this? Why would I make myself unhappy for anyone to be happier, even if its only slightly? What the fuck is wrong with me?

Radio Show

  • May. 8th, 2008 at 11:39 PM
Alright I've made a very long list of possible names for my new radio show. I just don't wanna stick with Infinite Chaos. I'm over that phase and creating something different and much better. I would like any advice you would like to give regarding this. Below are the top couple I am trying to decide on now.

1. The Anathema Of Zurx
2. Alchemical Overdose
3. Occulture
4. Apocalyptic Awakenings
5. Psychic Masturbation

There are a few more... kind of just variations and different combinations of some of the words already listed. I'm open to other suggestions as well. So far, I'm really feeling the first one. So I leave it to you, my potential fans, to give me some input - if you'd like.
